Although all of the work is complete, the FBO has not received approval from the FAA (FAA Form 337) to certify the installations. Therefore, the aircraft is grounded until that paperwork is received. The aircraft is not legally airworthy without FAA approval. The aircraft is in the CAP hanger but cannot be flown. I hope that the FBO will have the aircraft paperwork completed and signed-off early next week. I will let everyone know when the aircraft is flyable. William E. Also known as ECI-13, this short correspondence course is a requirement for completing Level II of the Senior Member Training Program and promotion to Captain. Magic City Composite Squadron will be hosting an ECI-13 study group starting in October. The course will consist of 4 mini seminars, each covering 1 volume of the ECI13 course. Students should read the volume in advance of each seminar to prepare. At the end of the study sessions, you will have the opportunity to take the closed book exam (65% passing score minimum). The seminars will probably meet on a weekday evening, subject to student availability. Expect a signup sheet at the October 4 general membership meeting. If you are already enrolled in the course, great! Please sign up for the study group in October, if you would like extra assistance. If you have not taken the course and would like to, great! Send me your name and last 4 digits of your social security number immediately. I will use that information to enroll you in the course, and the books will be mailed directly to you by AFIADL. You do not need to join the study group to complete the course; members are welcome to complete the correspondence course on their own within the 12-month course deadline. If you don't know if you've taken this course, please view the Professional Development report for Minot at http://www.ndcap.org/reports. The login name is ncrnd, and password is fly4fun. Look in the ECI-13 column: if there is a date there, you have already completed the course and received credit. If there are two dashes there, you need to take this course. Currently, 20 of 34 members in Magic City have NOT taken this course. If you are one of those 20, I welcome you to join the ECI-13 study group! Our squadron goal is 50% of members completing ECI-13 - that's just 3 members at our current squadron size. I hope you will be one of them. Please let me know if you have any questions. Message-ID: <006401c7fc06$e8040790$b80c16b0$@com> ATTENTION PILOTS The aircraft currently in Minot, N830CP, a C182T, is back in commission after having a picture window and glider tow kit installed. The aircraft is available to fly at your discretion. The aircraft will be flown to Bismarck on Saturday for a Wing Staff meeting; departing at 0930 and returning around 1600. N830CP will not be returning but we will bring back N9799E, a C182R, instead. N9799E will remain in Minot through October. If you are so inclined, please feel free to fly as often as you like. We still need to put hours on the aircraft. William E. Kay, Major, CAP ND Wing Director of Operations -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
